LOS ANGELES – A private airplane carrying singer Karol G had to make an emergency landing at a Los Angeles airport Thursday evening, a news report says.
The plane carrying the Grammy winner and others landed at Van Nuys Airport around 9 p.m. KABC-TV reported there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The plane took off from Hollywood Burbank Airport with 16 people on board and flew east, but turned back after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit, KABC reported.
The cause of the malfunction could not be immediately known.
Karol G won her first Grammy and was named Billboard magazine’s 2024 Woman of the Year in February. The Colombian singer-songwriter is expected to be honored at the Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 6
The Colombian singer recently won the Grammy Award for Best Música Urbana Album for her album Manana Serra Bonito.
They are currently on tour in Latin America and are set to play at the Explanada Cardales de Kayala in Guatemala City on Friday (March 1).
The Latin American leg of their Mañana Serra Bonito Tour will continue in May, with European dates beginning on June 8 in Switzerland. Karol G are set to play The O2 in London on June 18th and 19th.
